Say Cheeeeeeeese.........or "Cheeeeth!"

Don't you just love the new look? I don't know what is worse: two teeth barely hanging on, ready to fall out, or the gummy look! Needless to say, Ava won't be whistling any tunes anytime soon, and may be referred for speech therapy this week at school! Oh, to be almost 7 again!!!!

Pics before the hair grows out again!

Unfortunately, these pics aren't the best, as the weather right now is making the girls' hair want to stand up on end! Their hair doesn't want to do much of anything. But, grandma was getting anxious and wanted to see her sweeties with the "new do's!"

To help you out..........

For those of you who like to read events in order, scroll down to the post called "Amahl and the Night Visitors" and read going up from there. I was on a roll and just blogged all I could at this one time, as you all know I can be a bit sporadic on my posts! :)

Our BEST Christmas Present!

Whether it was eating, watching movies, playing video games, going to Build-a-Bear, refinishing the dollhouse Papaw made for me over 33 years ago, being silly, wearing new pj's from Mamaw and Papaw, showing off bike riding with no training wheels, reading books, walking across the bridge over the lake, driving around Dallas, watching football, and more......We had the best time having Mamaw and Papaw Rohm show up on Christmas Day to spend a week with us! We had a very good time. I'm sure the grandparents are pooped, but I think they had a good time, too! For those who remember the dollhouse, Papaw made it for me when I was young. It was beautiful in its time, but after years being in attics, carted from state to state, being a little bit out of date in its decor, etc., the grandparents decided they wanted to give it a makeover, so the granddaughters could enjoy it. It became much more of a project than anticipated, but with a little leftover project paint, MUCH sanding, ripping out of carpets and wallpapers, gluing on missing pieces, and more, the house is BEAUTIFUL! Much nicer to us than any dollhouse you can take out a second mortgage to buy in the Pottery Barn catalog. :) Some of the furniture needs to be replaced, but many of the pieces were so well made by the very famously talented Uncle Bill many moons ago. He would be proud that we were able to salvage most of it and do a little reupholstering. Looks good as new. Thanks! Many memories were had this Christmastime. We are so thankful for our family!

Christmas Morning!

We had a fun Christmas morning together opening up presents! Our big present was a big surprise. "Santa" fixed up an extra room in our upstairs, which was being used for storage, as a media room for the family to enjoy movies and video games. It was painted gray so it can be decorated for the Buckeyes. Our family got a new tv for watching movies and for the new Play Station 3 the boys received. Mom is so excited for the video games and all the mess and noise that comes with that to be moved upstairs. It no longer clutters our family room. Santa even fixed it up so the movies and games have surround sound, to give the full theater effect. We still need to work on putting up posters and things, and we are trying to figure out what to do about seating. In the meantime, the boys and dad are enjoying the Storm Rockers (with built in stereo sound) and the girls like the beanbags. Looks like mom is the odd one out and will have to sit on the floor! Or she can sneak downstairs and curl up on the couch by herself and watch HGTV instead!!!!! :) The best part of our Christmas Day came later...........................

Christmas Eve Duties!

After our first priority in celebrating Christmas Eve, attending a candlelight service at church to remember where our focus should be for the holiday, we did our duty to get the reindeer fed and Santa a snack before going to bed. Oh,..........How many of you went to your candlelight service and before getting down and serious, had an American Idol finalist walk out with his ukulele and sing "White Christmas?" Jason Castro surprised the crowd and sang for us. The church we attend is his home church. It was fun! Seriously, we did settle down and have a very meaningful time, and the kids loved the candles all shining and the crowd singing "Silent Night."

We think this Santa is Cuter!

We would have loved to sit on this Santa's lap and chatted with him. Who is this big guy decked all out for the holidays?????? I'm not sure, but I think Cedarville University better hold on tight to their VP of Christian Ministries, or he may find a future in Santa Clausing (Right, Papaw Rohm?)! Ho, ho, ho!!!!!!!

Our visit with Santa!

Gotta love the big guy in the red suit! He visited our neighborhood clubhouse. We enjoyed a night of hot chocolate and cookies, crafts, talking to Santa, and riding on a train through the neighborhood to take in all the Christmas lights and decor.

We love Christmas parties!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whether it is playing Bingo, frosting ice cream cone Christmas trees, riding on the Polar Express, or just clowning around, Christmas parties are full of fun!!!!!! Wears mom out though!
