Christmas Eve Duties!

After our first priority in celebrating Christmas Eve, attending a candlelight service at church to remember where our focus should be for the holiday, we did our duty to get the reindeer fed and Santa a snack before going to bed. Oh,..........How many of you went to your candlelight service and before getting down and serious, had an American Idol finalist walk out with his ukulele and sing "White Christmas?" Jason Castro surprised the crowd and sang for us. The church we attend is his home church. It was fun! Seriously, we did settle down and have a very meaningful time, and the kids loved the candles all shining and the crowd singing "Silent Night."

Don't know him. Our church is huge, so we would not necessarily see him, although before we moved here, he was part of the worship band on stage at times, I hear. Paul actually met him/shook hands with him once at a pizza joint (before AI ever happened), as he (Jason) worked for his dad who builds pools. The company Paul works with works together with some of these people by selling the stone, build walls, etc. for them. Who would have guessed he would show up next on AI! It was fun to be in the same town that he was from, as they made a big deal about it. :)
