School starts for the boys!!!!!

School is in session for Derek and Daniel. The boys started this past Wednesday. Derek is in the fifth grade. Daniel is in first grade. They ride the bus to and from school. Their day starts early, as they are on the bus at about 7:02 a.m. each day. Daniel is enjoying going all day, and especially likes buying lunch in the cafeteria. The highlight of the week is when he gets extra money for ice cream!!!! Aslynn and Ava anxiously await the boys' arrival home around 3:45 each afternoon.

Daniel is also in soccer this year. His first game is Monday night. He enjoys the socialization of the game for the most part! Derek is in football this year. He plays the tight end position. They had their preview this morning. Cedarville junior varsity looked pretty decent. No full game was played.

Aslynn and Ava are excited to start preschool soon. They will be attending the Cedarville Learning Center 3 mornings a week starting after Labor Day. Ava doesn't seem to understand why she can't ride the schoolbus yet. The girls are also going to start Cubbies this Wednesday. They are really looking forward to that! Fun, fun, fun! Awana is a program enjoyed immensely by all in our family.

I am sorry for those of you who don't think I keep this blog updated often enough. I try to remember! I'll push myself to keep things as current as I can!

Vacation!

We are back from our great vacation adventure! We first drove from Cedarville to Melbourne, FL. We spent about a week and one half with Paul's sister and family. We enjoyed Disney's Magic Kingdom for a day while there! The girls especially loved it! They got to see Cinderella's Castle.....a dream come true for Aslynn! It was mighty warm there, but well worth the heat to see the kids enjoy themselves so much! We got to enjoy the boat in Florida. The kids were even brave enough to be pulled by the boat on a tube!

After Florida, we drove from there to Texas.....actually to Fate, TX to meet up with Paul's brother and rest of the family. We actually spent our week and one half about an hour and a half east of there at Phil's beautiful lakehouse. There we enjoyed swimming, boating, jet skiing, four-wheeling, tons of outdoor games, fellowship, and food. We had a great time!

The kids did excellent traveling! We were so blessed! It is hard to get back into reality after such a long break! We are enduring the heat here in Ohio. Unfortunately, we don't have things to keep our mind off the heat here, as we did in TX and FL....mainly WATER for swimming at our convenience. :)

Thanks to all of you who kept us in your prayers for our safe travel, etc. We are thankful things went smoothly!
