Summer Vacation and More 2007!!!!!!!

After ALL the kids were done with school for the summer, we loaded up the van to start our long journey for the summer. We headed up to Oklahoma City to spend the night with Uncle Dane and Aunt Kristy. We were on our way to the last Amstutz cousin wedding (Brandon & Melissa's) in Omaha. We enjoyed seeing much of the Amstutz side of the family there. We lived it up in the beautiful Hilton there. On June 11, we decided to stay in Omaha (after the wedding) and celebrate Derek's 12th birthday. We went to Red Robin with the bunch, had cake at Uncle Kent and Aunt Marilyn's (amazing how you can improvise with wedding cake leftovers),and the boys went to the Pizza Station, which is a place with indoor video games and more.

We traveled to Ohio from there with Grandpa and Grandma Amstutz and Mamaw and Papaw Rohm following us. We all were anxious to see everyone in Cedarville after being gone since November. We spent a day at King's Island with Jeff and Asher. We had a cookout with all the other cousins who we did not see at the wedding. So much fun. We spent several days with Paul's parents. Paul's mom is very ill. We got to spend some quality time with her. Please help us pray that in God's will, she will be healed! The kids made a trail into Mamaw and Papaw Wetzel's woods. They cleared an area in there and put a park bench in place, so they have a place to relax out in God's wonderful nature. They enjoyed playing with cousin Rebekah, too. The boys spent the night out in a tent in Mamaw and Papaw Rohm's backyard. What grandparents will do to please their grand kids. What a job to put up and tear down. Thanks, Papaw!

When we got back to Texas, we only had days to unpack the suitcases, grocery shop, and prepare for Mamaw and Papaw Rohm to come visit here. Timing just happened this way, as Papaw had so many weekends and such filled up due to officiating weddings, etc., it was their only block of time to come. They expected to come and experience the Texas sunshine and heat, but came when Texas was experiencing RECORD rainfall and pretty decent temperatures. We did as much as we could between raindrops. Only one day was really a washout. We had fun celebrating the 4th of July. We did get Mamaw and Papaw out on the boat. Papaw even jumped in the lake with the kids! Fun! We were so glad they came. It was hard to give up the extra sets of hands to help with the kids. Now the Texas sun seems to be shining and the heat is rising! Wanted to get an update on here before the summer was over!!! :) I apologize for the pictures being out of order from my narrative, but I am plum tired and am signing off for the night! Maybe next time!!!:)
