Some More Firsts!............................

Ava had her very first soccer game (after 2 practices) this morning. We felt very proud of her, as she was one of a few who actually ran after the ball and didn't cry! :) We were a little shocked, being first time parents to a preschool girls' sporting event, when 3 of the 5 starters in Ava's team started to cry and stand completely still when the whistle blew at the beginning of the game! Ava's team consists mostly of 4 year olds, and boy were they so not ready to go out and play ball! Many of them cried on and off in the game, and most did not really acknowledge the ball at all. Ava did a really good job of going after the ball and trying her hardest. She did not seem to like that they switched soccer nets after halftime, and it took into the next quarter to convince her otherwise! She LOVED running through the tunnel at the end of the game and, of course, loved the snacks and drinks provided afterwards, They each are awarded a bracelet at the end of the game for different qualities. Ava got one of the best offense bracelets. As you can tell from Ava's picture, it certainly was a hot one out there. WOW!!!!!!

Daniel played in his first flag football game. He is always full of excitement. He got to play all over the place on the field today. His team did very well. Daniel LOVES to celebrate when his team does something good! It is all about high fives and hand slaps for him! They run a very organized sports program at Lake Pointe Church! There had to be thousands there throughout the day today. Daniel received the bracelet for the most Christ-like. What a great quality!

Derek has a bye today for his football team, so we get to enjoy the A/C the rest of the day! Thank goodness!
