School is back in session!!!!!

Yesterday was a big day at the Wetzel house. All four kids headed to school. The youngest three are at Celia Hays Elementary (Daniel - 3rd Grade, Ava - Kindergarten full day, and Aslynn - PreK half day mornings). The girls were the most excited about going to school. All three enjoyed their teachers and their day. Ava started fall soccer practice last night, so she was exhausted after her big day! Derek started 7th grade (7th and 8th grade are middle school here) at Williams Middle School. His school has up around 2000 kids in those two grades, just for the north part of town. The building is huge! He is taking Pre-AP classes in math, science and English/reading. He is taking Texas history. He is in choir and is taking boy's athletics, which turns into football practice at the end of the day. So, he stays at school until 5:15 each day. He is definitely mourning the loss of his free time and is trying to adjust to all these changes. He takes things very seriously, so we know he will do great! Mom had a tremendously long day yesterday, between playing taxi to all this and worrying about her first child entering the stage of a big middle school. 5:15 could not come soon enough for me either! :) Hopefully, today will be another successful one, and we will get into a routine of some sort!
