Why do Schools in Texas have Field Day in late May????

We sweltered in the high temps today for field day! I found my way around to see all 3 of our kids at Hays participate in several of their activities. Everyone needed a cool treat and a cool shower when they got home. There is no doubt we ALL will sleep soundly tonight!!!!!
